Vice Squad

It is about time we all start getting serious about getting serious about sharing our vices. How can we grow without each other to poke and prod us to higher insight and inspired creativity. A vice is a wonderful thing if it expands our minds or puts us in a euphoric or altered state of bliss. We all have our vices we just lack a squad. Join me at WeBeOutThere.

Hope you all find this fun. If you send me pictures I will post them to the site. I am looking to increase my skills. I would like to add a slide show and some sound bites. Still learning but I think this is a good start for my first day on the job as web master.

What clouds our consciousness and what frees our mind?
I think the media and my job have clouded my consciousness. Sometimes I feel like a drone manipulated information that a few want to release and some days I feel like I am in the movie Groundhog Day. I am looking forward to exploring a new side of me or at least getting back in touch with who I want to be and the guy I left in the past.

On the advice of several Vice squad members, I recently read House of Rain. What an exciting experience. If you haven't read it, run don't walk to the library or book store and get it.
The author hikes through Anasazi country tracing their migration out of the 4 Corners to northern Mexico. We've all been to many of the same places. I feel like I could have written this book, but the best I can do is write to this blog

Paul
Glad you finally read the book. It is one of the better books I have read in the past few years. If any of you would like to read it, I have it. Your welcome to it.

This is Great vice squad leader ! There is a new trail at the Red Gate. New to me anyway, it is past the Outer Limits trail and is called the Voodoo loop. I want to try it when the snow and weather cooperate.

I think Warren, Paul, Alan and I did that trail a couple months ago. It was fantastic. The best trail to date I think. Has anyone other than Warren and I read The Worst Hard Times?
Paul do you have any book recommendations that are non-political, non-religious? I have enjoyed the novels you have recommended in the past.
I went to the movies last weekend and watched "Legend". It was excellent. I thought it was pretty retro kinda like Return of the Zombies. I highly recommend it if your into sci-fi.

I bought the book for my Dad. He just finshed it and will start it soon. I am reading "Merle's Door: lessons learn from a free thinking dog" Interesting book if you are a dog lover.

Yes I've read The Worst Hard Time. It is great. I am currently reading The Nine, about the fuckups on the Supreme Court (but that's about politics), Just finished Pulling Oregon out of the Mud about building the coast hihgway (but you won't find that in Colorado, Ancient Mexico and will start Colbert's I am America and so can You. None of these are highly recommended, but I'll keep trying

Can we please eliminate out stupid primary election system. It only benefits the political consultants and media advertising companies, while letting out of touch places like Iowa and New Hampshire pick out presidents. I would be for a regional system where there were 4 - 5 different regions holding elections within the same week or two and you could rotate who went first.
If you're not afraid of Huckabee and his fellow Evangelicals, please watch the documentary Jesus Camp!

Hi - I am setting up a cycling group in the UK, and have used the google groups name "letsgetoutthere".
I would like to set up a blog for the group to record trips with notes, maps and photos etc.
As your blog has not been used for over two years, is there any chance you would consider allowing me to take over the name ?
Cheers.
